Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate tracking shift, by integrating an FM siganl level reproduced with a shaking rotating head through sampling at each specified section for each track and controlling the amount of track shift from the integrated value through detection. CONSTITUTION:A pulse generator 8 generates a sampling pulse synchronized with a rotating head and opens a gate 7. An FM reproducing output is envelope- detected at 5 and inputted to a voltage controlled oscillator VCO6. A counter 9 integrates an output of the VOC6 from the gate 7 and stores it at 11. Counting values at each field are compared at 12, an output signal is stored at 13 as a track shift signal and summed at 15 with a shaking signal from a pulse generator 8 as a shift correction tracking signal via a tracking signal generating circuit 14. The addition output controls a head moving mechanism 17 via a driving amplifier 16, and a rotating head makes reproduction at higher and lower positions than a reference in accordance with the shaking signal. Thus, the track shift can accurately be compensated.
