Abstract
PURPOSE:To exactly detect a track shift and to execute a tracking control, by displacing a rotary head in the track width direction, and detecting a reproducing signal level, synchronizing with rotation of the rotary head and a horizontal synchronizing signal of a reproducing video signal. CONSTITUTION:An FM reproducing signal 3 is supplied to a sampling circuit 7 through an envelope detector 6, and by a sampling pulse synchronizing with not only rotation of a rotary head from a pulse generator 8 but also a horizontal synchronizing signal of a reproducing video signal, by a reproducing video signal 4 and a drum pulse 5, a video signal level of N parts is sampled from one recording track and is provided to a memory 10. On the other hand, the pulse generating circuit 8 applies a head rocking signal of 2 fields to a head moving mechanism 16 through an adder 14 and a driving amplifier 15, and rocks the head in the track width direction. Data of the upper and lower displacement positions are compared through a system controller 9, and its output provided to a tracking signal generating circuit 13. In this way, a track shift is detected exactly, and the tracking control is executed.
