Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts of a reed valve means, by employing such an arrangement that two intake passages are formed in a single intake pipe in a bifurcated manner and two reed valves are provided at an intake-air inlet part for opening and closing the space formed between the two intake passages and the intake-air inlet part common to the two intake passages. CONSTITUTION:A first and a second intake passages 17, 18 having a common intake-air inlet part 16 are formed in an intake pipe 15 in a bifurcated manner, and outlet parts 17a, 18a of these two passages 17, 18 are communicated respectively to intake ports 11, 11' of a first and a second crank cases 3, 3'. Further, a valve unit 22 having a first and a second reed valves 19, 20 combined with a single valve body 21 is disposed at the intake-air inlet part 16. The valve unit 22 includes a flange part 23 extended radially outward from the valve body 21 to locate between intake pipes 15 and 24, and the flange part 23 of the valve unit 22 is fixed firmly between the intake pipes 15 and 24 by means of bolts. Further, a seal member 27 is interposed between the valve body 21 and the inner wall surface of the intake pipe 15, and the valve unit 22 is provided with stoppers 28, 29 for restricting the openings of the reed valves 19, 20.
