Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled image forming member with stabilized electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics and superior optical fatigue resistance by forming an amorphous layer having specified photoconductivity on an electrophotographic support having a surface of Al2O3 contg. water in the chemical structure. CONSTITUTION:A barrier layer 102 made of amorphous material such as a- SiaC1-a (0<a<1) and having 30-1,000Angstrom thickness is optionally formed on an electrophotographic support 101 having a surface of Al2O3 contg. water in the chemical structure and having 0.05-10mum thickness, and a photoconductive amorphous layer 103 made of Si-base amorphous material contg. H and/or halogen and having 1-100mum thickness is formed. The layer 103 is composed of a lower layer region 104 contg. C distributed uniformly in the thickness direction by an amount C1, an intermediate layer region 105 contg. C distributed uniformly in the thickness direction by an amount C3 and an upper layer region 106 contg. C distributed uniformly in the thickness direction by an amount C2. The relation among the amounts C1-3 is C3<C1, C2.
