Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce noises due the directivity of light reflected and diffused by the surface of an original by reflecting again the light reflected and diffused by the surface of the original through a light diffusing means and then penetrating the reflected light into a photoelectric transducer. CONSTITUTION:A transmissive diffusing plate 13 is arranged between the surface 3 of an original and a photoelectric transducer 6. Light components 14-16 reflected and diffused by the surface 3 of the original in various directions are completely diffused by the transmission into the diffusing plate 13 and only the diffused light components 23-25 directed to the photoelectric transducers are penetrated into the photoelectric transducer 6. Consequently, a part of light components reflected and diffused in various directions by the surface 3 of the original is superposed and penetrated on the transducer 6, reducing noises due to the directivity of the reflected and diffused light.
