Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the face or back sides and dirt, by providing two binary coding circuits detecting the presence/absence of a signal in parallel, setting reference values with different levels for the both, and counting pulses formed by the outputs of the both. CONSTITUTION:A scanning line output of a TV camera 1 picking up a label is inputted two binary coding circuits 2 and 3 in parallel connection having different levels for pattern detection 4. The pattern detection circuit 4 consists of JK-FFs 41 and 42 and a counter 43. A signal DH (including black level) is applied to a clock terminal CK of the FF41 and a signal DL (white level) is applied to clear terminal CR of the FF41 and 42. Outputs Q1 and Q2 of the FFs 41 and 42 output pulses when the label has graphs and codes and the TV camera 1 produces an output, but when non-signal, the output Q1 only shows a single pulse, and the output Q2 is (0). When the counter 43 counts Q2 and is a threshold value or more, it shows the front side of the label and when less than the threshold value, it shows the back side, dirt front side or shifted label position, allowing the inspection to make efficient.
