Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a printing system whereby arabic sentences which are easy to read are composed with a relatively less number of character codes by printing a character with a font specified for the position of the character in a line which is to be varied depend on the composition of a sentence. CONSTITUTION:The initial letter and middle letter of an arabic character (it is changed to an initial letter, a middle letter or a terminal letter according to its position in a sentence in which it is used) are printed with an initial letter font and the terminal letter of the character is printed with a terminal letter font. In other words, when the sequence of data to be inputted satisfies one of the following kinds of relationship, (i) character J to be changed-character L, (ii) character J to be changed-vowel V-character L, (iii) character J to be changed- vowel[formulaI]-vowel other than[formulaI]-character L, (iv) character J to be changed-vowel[formula II]-vowel[formula II]-character[formula III] and (v) character J to be changed-vowel[formulaI]-vowel[formula II]-vowel[formula II]-character[formula III], said character J is printed with its initial letter.
