Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the difference of concentration by a method in which for the portion having high dot density, printing energy is weakened to make dot diameter smaller, whereas for the portion having low dot density, the printing energy is strenghened to make dot diameter larger. CONSTITUTION:The density of dot is detected for every one dot pitch unit or letter unit, and on the basis of the results obtained, printing energy is switched. In case where dots of high density are printed as in the case of Chinese character, the printing energy is made a comparatively small, whereas for the case where dots of low density are printed as in the case of English and numerals, the printing energy is made comparatively great. Thus, since the diameter of dot 9 for English and numerals becomes larger than that of Chinese character, the concentration difference is visually reduced and dots are made legible.
