Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform printing with high efficiency without increase of ROM by adding information of line and row for representing false dots to the ROM of a character generator. CONSTITUTION:By the ROM10 of a character generator, line information is stored in a LR register 30 every one-letter printing, and row information is likewise stored in CR register 40. Furthermore, the dot information of the first row is read out from ROM10 and stored in DR register 20. According to information stored in these registers 20, 30, and 40, a control circuit 50 controls the solenoid portion 70 of the vertical first row through a driver 60 for printing. In case where both of the line information of the register 30 and the row information of the resiter 40 is 1, the presence of false dot shifted to the left for as much as half dot in the line and row information is shown. Thus, the circuit 50 shifts to the left the dot of line where false dot is present and prints, but otherwise controls it in such a way as to print in normal position. In the same way, printing is made even after the 2 row.
