Abstract

PURPOSE: To output a desired Chinese character in a short time through simple operation by inputting a word with a prefix and suffix as one word while adding a control signal before and after it.
CONSTITUTION: A circuit which outputs a Chinese/kana Japanese syllabary character mixed sentence inputted from kana keyboard 1 in the form of a kana sentence according to pronunciation is provided with prefix tables 4 and 12 and suffix table 9 stored with prefixes and suffixes in Chinese characters, in addition to word dictionary 8 stored with individual words. To convert a kana character into a Chinese character, the character code is stored in kana register 2 through the operation of a function key provided on keyboard 1 and its content is compared with prefixes in table 4 by prefix comparator 5, whose output is added to composition circuit 15 through table 12. Further, a prefixed word from register 2 is separated into two by separator circuit 6 and two separated words are collated with table 9 and dictionary 8 at every time, so that when both agree each other, they will be applied as the prefixed word from composition circuit 16 to display unit.
