Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a multifont character reader by utilizing multidictionaries constituted independently of one another for every font and all dictionaries are used to read the first character and a dictionary having the highest resemblance degree is automatically selected and this selected dictionary is used to read characters hereafter. CONSTITUTION:All dictionaries of a selective multifont dictionary 1 are used to read a certain number of first characters on a form in a character recognizing part 2, and the value of the highest resemblance degree of each dictionary to each character is added as points independently, and respective commulative points are stored in a point storage register 3, and this operation is repeated for a certain number of characters, and a comparator 4 is used to detect the highest value of points, and thus, a dictionary used for this form is selected automatically.
