Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the miniaturization and high reliability for a switching regulator, by supplying the power to a driving circuit and a control circuit from an input power supply and only at the starting moment and then supplying the power from an output power supply after the switching regulator has the normal working. CONSTITUTION:A timer circuit 10 works on an input power supply 1 to supply the input electric power to a power supply circuit 11 and a minus/plus converter 12. Then the power is supplied to a driving circuit 5' and a control circuit 6' from the converter 12 through a diode D1. When the output voltage V9 of the circuit 9 and the output voltage V8 of a main converter 3 are coincident with each other, the output of the converter 3 shares a part of the power supply to the load of the circuit 5', etc. to reduce the load of the circuit 9. When the voltage V8 reaches a certain level higher than the voltage V9, the electric power is supplied to the circuit 5' and then the circuit 6' from the output of the converter 3 by the polarities of diodes D1 and D2 and regardless of the circuit 9. Thus the output voltage of the converter 3 is held at a prescribed normal level.
