Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify mechanism and improve reliability by connecting controllable and non-controllable charging devices in parallel so that when the controllable charging device is in trouble, it can be disconnected from power source output line to maintain DC power supply from the non-controllable charging device.
CONSTITUTION: A non-controllable charging device 12 composed only of diode is connected in parallel to a controllable charging device 11 composed of a thyrister rectifier provided with an output voltage control function. While DC power is usually supplied from the controllable charging device 11 to a DC power source output line L, when the controllable charging device 11 became out of service, a no fuse switch 13 is tripped and a contact 13 is put on so that DC power is supplied from the non-controllable charging device 12. As the non-controllable charging device 12 is composed only of diode, it requires no control circuit, and therefore, it is possible to simplify the mechanism prolonging its average service life (MTBF) and improving its reliability.
