PURPOSE: To prevent breakage of a sheathing material and perform stable hot rolling by covering an Fe-Si-Al alloy with a sheathing material and hot rolling said alloy while restricting its width direction.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Si-Al alloy containing 4W12% Si and 2W12% Al is sheathed with a carbon steel etc., and prescribed hot rolling is performed, while restricting both end sides of a plate to be rolled, by a vertical roll such as grooved roll. Then the rolled plate is cooled at a cooling rate of the extent of ≤20°C/min. By this method, the hot rolling of the alloy is performed properly without troubles such as breakage of the sheathing material.
