Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of coil break and buckle due to continuous annealing in the bending of a cold rolled steel plate by reducing impurities such as Si and Mn in steel in the manufacture of a continuously cast steel slab for said plate.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of a steel slab for a cold rolled steel plate by a continuously casting method, the chemical composition of molten steel as starting material is adjusted so as to contain <0.10% C, <0.04% Si, <0.0070% N, 0.0010W0.0070% B, 0.005W0.060% sol. Al, <0.020% S and 0W0.20% Mn as (Mn-S×55/32). When a cold rolled steel plate is manufactured using this steel and continuously annealed, Si and Mn are not segregated on the plate surface, and the resulting plate has superior bendability.
