Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance reliability for operation of an electric car by feeding the current in such an arrangement that there is not any momentary interruption of power supply to the electric car just when the car passes any dead section existing between parallelly installed two power sources and that the car can pass over from one to the other source in the condition of power drive. CONSTITUTION:Between railway lines 3a and 3c connected to No.1 and 2 substations 1a and 1b, respectively, an electric car 3b is interposed with No.1 and 2 dead sections S1, S2, and No.1 and 2 circuit breakers 5a, 5b are installed between this line 3b and the lines 3a, 3c. Reactors 7a, 7b for restriction of transverse current are installed through No.3 circuit breaker 5c and a balance reactor 6. The line 3b is supplied with current from the substation 1a through circuit breaker 5a until the electric car T passes the dead section S1, and the circuit breaker 5a is disconnected during current supply to the line 3b after the breaker 5c is put on. Thus current supply is made from both substations 1a, 1b.
