Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the coated steel pipe showing a high bonding force in a high productivity with a good thermal efficiency consuming a small amount of heat by a method wherein the steel pipe heated to a predetermined temperature is coated with a bonding agent and the thermosetting resin sequentially, thereafter the surface layer part of the steel pipe is heated by high frequency induction heating.
CONSTITUTION: The steel pipe is preheated to a temperature near the softening temperature of the bonding agent, preferably to 80W120°C, and is coated with the bonding agent by an extruding coating method and a powder coating method so as to have a thickness of 0.1W0.3mm, subsequently, the thermoplastic resin is coated thereon to a thickness of 0.5W3.5mm with a round type die or a T type die. After the coating, the steel pipe is heated by the high frequency induction so as to heat the surface layer part of the steel pipe (preferably the layer in the depth of 0.5W3mm from the surface) to a temperature of 180W280°C and wetting between the surface of the steel pipe is promoted by fusing the bonding agent layer to obtain a high bonding force. It is not necessary to heat the whole of them, therefore, the time for cooling may be shortened.
