Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten a production time and enhance production efficiency, in preparing the thermoplastic resin coated steel pipe, by forcedly cooling a primer layer between a coating and curing process of a reaction curable type primer and a thermoplastic coating process.
CONSTITUTION: While a steel pipe 1 subjected to anti-rust treatment is moved to a direction shown by an arrow, an external surface thereof is coated with a reaction curable type primer by a coating machine 2 and, in order to accerelate curing, a primer layer is heated by induction heater to cure the primer in a short time. Next, cooling water is blown onto the primer layer from a cooling water injection pipe 4 to forcedly cool the same in such a degree that wettability with a thermoplastic resin applied in the next process is not lost. In this case, temp. of the steel pipe directly before the thermoplastic resin is applied thereto is measured by a radiation thermometer 6 and, corresponding to the measured value, while a valve 5 is controlled by a flow controller 7 to adjust a cooling water amt. and, after cooling is carried out so as not to lose the above described wettability, the thermoplastic resin is coated on said steel pipe from an extruder 8 and solidified thereon.
