1456415 Curable polymeric coatings or metal pipes and surfaces URAL N I INST TRUB PROMYSHLEN 4 June 1974 24743/ 74 Heading B2E A coating of a curable polymeric material. e.g. an epoxy resin, is formed on a metal surface, particularly a pipe, by heating the metal to a temperature above the melting and curing temperature of the polymeric material, passing it into a thermally insulated chamber and maintaining it there without the application of external heat so that slow cooling occurs. Material capable of polymerisation is coated on the metal surface before or after heating and the chamber temperature is between 20‹C and the curing temperature of the material.
