Abstract
1,249,422. Thermal insulation. MILLER INSULATION & ENG. Ltd. 21 May, 1970 [27 May, 1969], No. 26602/69. Heading F2X. In a pipe section for carrying fluid at a temperature greater than 200‹ F., thermal insulation is effected with polyurethane foam. The pipe 1 is covered by a heat barrier 2 of asbestos, or fibre glass, and is positioned within the metal or plastics cover 3. The annular cavity 4 is filled with polyurethane foam. The heat barrier 2 reduces the temperature of the inner surface of the polyurethane foam and thus prevents its breakdown.
