Abstract
PURPOSE:To heat blank materials for forging with extremely high thermal efficiency and reduced scale loss by putting the blank materials for rolling having an outside size slightly smaler than the inside size of hollow cylinders consisting of refractory materials into said cylinders and heating the same indirectly from the circumference of the hollow cylinders. CONSTITUTION:Blank materials for forging having an outside size slightly smaller than the inside size of hollow cylinders 4 consisting of silicon nitride silicon carbide refractory materials are inserted into said cylinders 4 from the outside of a rotary disc 6, and are heated successively. While the blank materials inserted therein are rotated together with the cylinders 4 in a heating furnace 1 by the rotation of the disc 6, they are heated. Thereafter, at the point of the time for supplying the next blank materials, the heated blandk materials are pushed down by the blank materials to be freshly inserted out from the free ends of the cylinders 4 into a heat resistant pipe 9 for removal, through which they are removed to the outside. As a result, fuel consumption is reduced, the blank materials for forging are heated uniformly to prescribed temp. and the heater is made extremely compact and small.
