Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the overall efficiency of the plant and reduce the initial cost thereof by a method wherein a regulating valve regulating the passage area of an air feeding passageway and an air passageway for a gas generator is provided in the internal-combustion engine equipped with an exhaust turbo supercharger. CONSTITUTION:A turbo generator 2 is driven by steam generated in an exhaust gas economizer 1. Gas generated in the gas generator 8 drives the turbine for the supercharger 7. The regulating valve 9 regulates the passage area of the air feeding passageway 13 and the air passageway 14 for the gas generator. Thus, the exhaust gas economizer 1 is operated by the generating gas of the gas generator 8 upon the low load of the plant, therefore, the installation of an auxiliary boiler or a diesel generator may be saved. Also, the supercharger 7 is operated by the generating gas to effect the scavenging of the main engine upon the low load of the plant and a good combustion may be effected.
