Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the locally overheated state from occuring and on the other hand contrive to better the output loss and to improve the warming-up property of the engine as a whole by a method wherein the driving of the water pump is controlled on the basis of the temperature detected in the neighborhood of the combustion chamber of the engine. CONSTITUTION:The water pump 11 is coupled through a driving belt 14 with an electrically-driven motor 15, the operation of which is controlled by a signal from a controlling circuit 13. A temperature snsor 16 detecting the engine temperature near the combustin chamber 4 is provided in the neighborhood of the combustin chamber 4 of the engine 1. The output signal of the temperature sensor 16 is inputtted to a temperature detecting circuit 17 in order to detect the engine temperature and the output signal of the circuit 17 is inputted to an output current calculating circuit 18. The circuit 18 calculates output current to drive the motor 15 at the predetermined rotational frequency corresponding to the magnitude of the engine temperature signal from the circuit 17. The calculated output signal is outputted through a current controlling circuit 19 to a driving device 12 in order to drive the motor 15 at the predetermined rotational frequency.
