EXAMPLE: D-7-(α-tert-Butoxycarboxamide)-p-hydroxy-phenylacetamido)-3-[(4-carboxy-3-hydroxyisothiazole-5-yl)thiomethyl]-Δ3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid.
USE: An antibacterial agent. Effective against Gram-positve and Gram-negative bacteria.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II (R1 is amino-protecting group, pyridinecarbonyl, etc.) is reacted with a novel compound shown by the formula III (R2 is H, carboxy-protecting group), and, if necessary, the protecting group is eliminated, to give a compound shown by the formulaI.
