EXAMPLE: 7-( α-Carboxyphenylacetamide )-3-[ 2-(1-methyl-1H-tetrazole-5-yl )vinyl]-Δ3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid.
USE: An antibacterial agent. Having antibacterial action on Gram-positive and Gram- negative bacteria.
PROCESS: A 7-aminocephalosporin derivative shown by the formula II is reacted with a carboxylic acid derivative shown by the formula III, and, if necessary, a protecting group is removed, to give a reaction product, which is converted into a salt or ester, to give a compound shown by the formula I.
