Abstract

PURPOSE:To dehydrate a resin pellet at much lower cost than by a hot air drying method by a method in which a resin pellet cooled by cooling water by a direct contact manner is collided against a drain net in such a way as to forcibly and quickly shake off water adhered to the resin pellet by means of impaction. CONSTITUTION:Resin pellets P wetted with water are charged into a hopper 15, dropped from the hopper 15, sent to an outlet 13 while being directed toward a metal net 17 by the pressure of air jetted into a casing from an air nozzle 16, during which the water adhered to the resin pellets P is separated primarily. Afterwards, the resin pellets P are blown through the inlet 11 of an induction pipe 2 into a passway 3 and passed through the first curved passway 4 near the inlet of the induction pipe 2, whereupon the resin pellets P undergo a centrifugal force, directed to the inclined guide face 24 of an inducer 22, sent toward slantly outwards, and collided against a drain net 21 for separation of water adhered to the resin pellets P.
