Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the safety against oxygen shortage by a method wherein the exhaust gas temperature from the conbustion chamber of a hot air heater or the like and the room temperature are detected and, when the difference between the detected outputs of said exhaust gas temperature and room temperature becomes smaller than the predetermined value, the combustion of the equipment is brought to a stop. CONSTITUTION:When oxygen deficient state occurs during the combustion of the equipment, the combustion reaction of combustion flames formed at the primary air supply holes 12 and 17 of an inner flame tube 11 and of an outer flame tube 16 becomes inactive and the flames gradually become smaller and the number of holes 12 and 17, at which no flame is formed, increases, resulting in producing incomplete combustion. Consequently, the heat to be given to a wick 3 decreases and the reduction of the amount of fuel vaporization from the wick 3 and the resultant decrease of the heat released from the equipment follow, resulting in making the detection signal from an exhaust temperature detecting element 35 smaller. On the other hand, the detection signal from a room temperature detecting element 34 remains unchanged. Accordingly, the difference between the two signals becomes smaller. As a result, when said difference becomes smaller than the predetermined value, a solenoid 6 is deenergized, resulting in lowering the wick 3 and extinguishing the equipment. In such a manner as mentioned above, the detection of oxygen deficient state and the sure automatic extinguishing of the equipment can be accomplished, resulting in enabling to improve the safety of the equipment.
