Abstract

The instant water heater has one or more water tubes above a gas burner. The burner supply pipe has, one after the other, a modulation valve (13) and a stop valve (14). These are controlled, respectively, by a differential temperature regulator with two monitoring probes (26, 27) mounted upstream and downstream of the heater (1); and by a flow detector (23) in the water outlet pipe. There can be an automatic lighting system, with a pilot light (16) controlled by solenoid valve (16a, 16b) in the tapping to it. The solenoid valve is in turn controlled by the control system, which also regulates an ignition electrode. A monitoring probe allows opening of the supply valves to the burner only after the pilot flame has been lit.
