Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize combustion in a low flow rate region where flow rate measurement is incorret and combustion of a burner is unstable by a method wherein valve opening is controlled on the basis of a valve opening -time characteristic previously memorized in the low flow rate region of interest.
CONSTITUTION: In a burner which control valves 3, 4 for requlating flow rates are each mounted to a combustion air A supply piping 1 and a combustion fuel G supply piping 2 and the valve opening is controlled by positioners 5, 6, a controller 9 is provided which a valve opening-time characteristic in the low flow rate regions of the control valves 3, 4 is previously memorized. The valve opening of the control valves 3, 4 is controlled by giving the positioners 5, 6 signals SA, SG from the controller 9 based on the extinguishing signals C of the burner. The said valve opening-time characteristic is set by computing the quantity of valve opening variation per unit time by an effective flow rate characteristic previously determined and the optimum air-fuel ratio m0 if the furnace is extinguished or ignited keeping mo even in the low flow rate region.
