Abstract

PURPOSE: To dispose discharged highly water-retaining sludge as such with a small fuel consumption amount, by arranging a sludge-treating vessel, a sludge- feed vessel, a discharge means for an accumulated sludge layer, a turning means for the accumulated sludge layer and a heat accumulator adjacent to the treating vessel.
CONSTITUTION: An aerobic fermenter is constructed by a treating vessel 1 for receiving an accumulated sludge layer 2 to be disposed, a feed means 3 for feeding the sludge to one end of the treating vessel 1, a discharge means 4 at the other end of the treating vessel 1 for discharging the accumulated sludge layer 2, a turning menas 5 for turning the accumulated sludge layer 2 and transfering the sludge layer from the feed side at one end to the discharge side at the other end of the treating vessel 1, a heat accumulator 61 and a heat medium means 6 for absorbing solar energy from a heat collector 62 and feeding the heat source. The sludge to be disposed is dried in the heat medium means 6 at first, dewatered by contact with hot air into a state having a water-retaining ratio of about 50%, and then transfered to a compost-making zone 12.
