Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive increase of coil capacity by a method wherein, in the case of fixing the spool in which a superconductive field coil has been placed using the wedge divided into a plurality of parts, a chamfering work is performed on the four corners of each wedge, and the stress generated at the wedges is alleviated by reducing the openings wherefrom the wedges are inserted. CONSTITUTION:When a wedge 19 is inserted in the wedge-inserting opening 21 after the spool with a superconductive field coil wound around has been placed in the grooves of a coil mounting shaft, a chamfering work 19a is performed on the four corners of each wedge 19. As a result, the stress generated at the wedge 19 and its teeth section 23 is relaxed by reducing the wedge inserting opening 21, and the capacity of the coil can be increased.
