CONSTITUTION: This alloy cast iron contains 2.5W4.0% C, 1.8W4.0% Si, 0.1W 1.2% Mn, 0.7W2.5% Cr, 1.0W4.2% Ni and 0.03W1.0% Ti and/or <0.1% Ca, and the graphite structure contains 1 or 2 kinds of graphite selected from flaky graphite, semiflaky graphite and eutectic graphite in spite of the contained Cr. By adding Cr, the seawater resistance is enhanced. By adding Ni, the cast iron is inhibited from being excessively converted into white pig iron owing to the added Cr, the thickness sensitivity is reduced, and a homogeneous pearlite matrix structure is formed. By adding Ti and/or Ca, the graphite structure is improved to prevent the coarsening of the graphite, and the superior machinability is maintained.
