CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical cleaning member 3 made of a porous elastic matter is fixed on the surface of a permanent magnet 4 of a cleaning roll 2 and then turned toward an arrow mark. A magnetic member 5 is set in a range of the sucking force of the magnet 4 and at the lower part of the roll 2. Thus the residual magnetic toner 9 of a photoreceptor 1 which stuck on the surface of the roll 2 is detached from the member 3 at the position near the member 5 and by the repulsion of the same polarity to the magnet 4 and then dropped into a recovering container. In such way, the cleaning efficiency is improved and at the same time the life time of the member 3 is greatly prolonged since the member 3 has just a light touch to the photoreceptor 1.
