Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a superheater and the like from being burnt-out by a method wherein a main combustion chamber is formed of the bottom of a furnace and a pair of nose parts formed by protruding from the wall surface at the side walls of a boiler in the captined equipment employed in the manufacturing process of pulp. CONSTITUTION:The nose parts 3a and 3b are arranged at the opposing side walls 1a and 1b in the upper part of the tertiary air ports 2 of a boiler main body 1 so as to form the main combustion chamber 4 together with the bottom of the furnace. Black liquor L jetted from oscillators 5 is dried and, after that, falls on the bottom of the furnace to form char bed 6. The char bed 6 is burnt by primary and secondary airs A1 and A2 except the unburnt portion scattered together with combustion gas. On the other hand, the existence of the nose parts 3a and 3b at the upper part of the tertiary air ports 2 causes the temporary lowering of the combustion gas velocity at the side of the main combustion chamber 4, resulting in allowing the unburnt portion fall down of itself to be burnt under the condition that the combustion rate of the unburnt portion is enhanced by favourably mixing the tertiary air A3 with the combustion gas. Accordingly, the combustion gas containing little unburnt portion is resulted to reach the superheater 7.
