Abstract

PURPOSE: To restrict the formation of NOx effectively by arranging an inertial collision type louver dust collector at the notch portion of the boundary wall between a mixture gas passage and a secondary air passage.
CONSTITUTION: An inertial collision type louver dust collector consisting of louver boards 12 of which the tip ends are slanted inwardly is arranged at the notch portion of the boundary wall 11 between a mixture gas passage O1 and a secondary air passage O3. The mixture gas fed through the passage O1 at a normal pulverized- coal concentration collides with the louver boards 12, and one portion of the mixture gas is separated into pulverized coal and air due to the difference in inertia force. The pulverized coal is injected as a rich mixture gas from a mixture gas nozzle O2, and subjected to initial combustion at low oxygen concentration so as to reduce the formation of NOx. The air containing a small amount of pulverized coal which has not been separated flows through slits 13 into the passage O3, is injected as a lean mixture gas from a secondary air nozzle 14, and is burnt without producing much NOx.
