Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a printing head from being overheated, in a high-speed wire dot type serial printing device, by making changeover to one-direction printing when temperature of the printing head became high. CONSTITUTION:A printed head 3 is operated for two-direction printing of the shortest distance shifting by a pulse motor driving circuit 4 under the control of a controller 1. When the two-direction printing is executed at a high speed, the printing head 3 rises in temperature gradually. This temperature is detected by a temperature-sensing element 8, and the controller 1 stops controlling the two-side-directed printing and switches the control to that for one-direction printing. When the temperature has come down, the two-direction printing is started again. As it is possible, by doing so, to prevent the printing head shifting speed from varying, necessity of changing pulse pattern of the pulse motor driving circuit and the timing of printing can be eliminated.
