Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of printing quality due to a change in the drive characteristic of a solenoid by providing a control circuit to automatically control a printing speed in response to a soaring temperature of a solenoid for print driving. CONSTITUTION:Inside a printing head 1 of an impact-type dot printer consisting of printing needles W1-Wn and solenoids L1-Ln for driving a printing needle, a thermocouple TH which is a temperature-sensing element which detects a change in the external temperature of an printing head 1 which is attributable to the soaring temperature of the solenoid L1-Ln, is provided. Then a detection signal from the temperature-sensing element TH is input to a detection control circuit 2, and a printing timing signal and a carriage driving signal in response to a printing speed preset against an internal temperature of the printing head 1, are output to a solenoid control circuit 3 and a carriage control circuit 4 from the detection control circuit 2. Thus an erroneous printing due to a temperature climb of the solenoid can be prevented.
