Abstract

PURPOSE:To prolong service life of heat-producing resistance elements and to enable to carry out recording at a higher speed, by record-driving a plurality of heat-producing resistance element groups successively at predetermined time intervals in the direction of their disposition, and at the same time, preheating only those resistance element groups which are driven next for recording. CONSTITUTION:From impression voltage controlling circuit 7, recording voltage and preheating voltage are given successively and selectively to heat-producing resistance element groups 31 through 32n in response to current-supply control signal TSS. When a high-level signal TSS is given only to TSS input terminal T1 in circuit 7, only a first transistor in transistor circuit 71 and a second transistor in transistor circuit 72 are energized, so that recording voltage and preheating voltage are given respectively at output terminals O1 and O2. Operation of the apparatus is controlled by affording voltage shown in (a)-(e) in the drawing in response to TSS given at time intervals of T, and supplying high-level current- supply signal TS and recording information signal KS(f) afforded to switch circuit 10 alternately to circuits 9a and 9b at time intervlas of T, as shown at (g, h) in the drawing.
