Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the temperature of a thermal head always the same as steady state and perform printing by controlling the head driving continuation time according to the count value in which the shortest driving period of the thermal head is a reference. CONSTITUTION:When there is no input corresponding to recording to a counter circuit 401, a counter circuit 402 makes addition counting at each shortest driving period and addresses a ROM 403. Then, the time for driving the thermal head in an optimum manner at the inputting of the data corresponding to the next recording is read out from the ROM 403 and is transferred to a register 404. According to the driving time being transferred to the register 404 in correspondence to the input data, the thermal head 407 is driven by a head driving circuit 406 by way of a head driving time control part 405 and at the same time the register 404 is cleared by the control part 401. Hence, the driving time of the head is controlled according to different pause times and the temperature of the head becomes always the same as steady state, thus even and well head recording is accomplished.
