Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the electric contact resistance between a negative case and a negative active material, which is made of a light metal such as lithium, by making the negative active material to be electrically in contact with the negative case through ultrasonic fusion. CONSTITUTION:A negative active material made of a light metal such as lithium is placed on the inner bottom surface of a negative case, which is a component of a negative electrode, in a usual atmosphere. Next, ultrasonic waves are applied over the negative active material while static pressure is applied over the negative active material by pushing an ultrasonic horn over the negative active material, and the negative active material is made in close contact with the inner bottom surface of the negative case owing to ultrasonic energy, thus electric contact between the negative case and the negative active material can be achieved. Here, the above static pressure applied over the negative active material should be 5kg/cm<2>-800kgcm<2> per unit area of the negative active material, and the applied time of ultrasonic waves should be 0.1-5sec. In addition, the output, the frequency and the amplitude of the above ultrasonic-wave equipment should be 30W-3kW, 10-30kHz and 20-80mu, respectively.
