Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as a raw material of pharmaceuticals, etc., easily, economically, in high yield and purity, by reacting 2- mercaptothiazoline compound with 2-halogenoethylamine hydrohalide in the presence of water.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula III (R1, R2, R3 and R4 are H, lower alkyl, OH-substituted lower alkyl, or phenyl) is prepared by reacting 1mol of the compound of formulaIwith 1mol of the compound of formula II (X is halogen) in the presence of ≥1mol, preferably 1W10mol of water at ≥20°C, preferably ≥50°C. The reaction may be carried out in an arbitrary amount of an aqueous solution of hydrogen halide to increase the rate of reaction.
USE: Intermediate for the preparation of a substance effective to prevent from radiotoxicity, intermediate for preparation of antifungal and antimold agent, intermediate for preparation of metal corrosion protecting agent, rubber additive, and resin modifier.
