Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the recording time of a printer by constantly preheating the recording elements of its recording head up to a low temperature of such a degree where a thermo sensitive paper is not caused to form colors. CONSTITUTION:Heat generating elements R1-R832 of a recording head are connected in parallel between a common electrode 7 and a shift register 8 which sends out image signal and a record signal electrode 9 which sends out a record signal A. The record signal A and clock pulse Cl2 can be applied, as they are, to recording head elements through a gate 11. In this case, the recording head is heated every time when clock pulse Cl2 is applied and it preheats recording elements to a low temperature. If clock pulse Cl2 is applied to the recording head before its temperature falls below the temperature of elements which is sufficient to form a visual print density, the temperature of recording elements becomes high again, therefore it is arranged so that clock pulse Cl2 is not applied to the recording head until its temperature falls such a temperature of elements corresponding to a print density where a thermo sensitive paper is not caused to form a visual color.
