Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a forming yield of a blank billet, by cutting off the following long sized billet so as to make the sum of the length of the cut first end-part of said billet and that of the short final end-part of the preceding one equal to the standard length, and forming them by extruding into a product billet of the standard size, in a extrusion-forming by cutting a long sized billet into the standard sized billets. CONSTITUTION:The first long sized billet X1 is cut off into the standard sized billets L, having the standard lengths l respectively, in sequence to be formed by extruding into the prescribed products by a extrusion-forming machine. Finally an end piece A1 of which the length a1 is shorter than the standard length l is generated. In this case, an end piece A having the length a2, made so as to be a1+a2=l, is cut off from the first end-part of the second long sized billet X2, and thereafter a billet L having the standard length l is cut off successively to be formed by extruding. The end pieces A1 and A2 are heated to the working temp. to be put into a container 1 of the extrusion-forming machine and are pressed by a stem 2 to be formed by extruding, similarly to the case of the standard sized billet L, by a die 3. Thus the yield is improved because the generation of the mateial losses in the long sized billet is avoided.
