Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve easy braille input and output operation of high speed and high reliability, by combining a keyboard system where a pronounced word and a key correspond one by one with a computer and a braille typewriter output device. CONSTITUTION:When a braille input for one transversal line's share is finished and converted into a braille character string with a computer, a typewriter outputs the upper row, and then outputs the middle row with a shift of 2mm. and further outputs the lower row with a further shift of 2mm.. In the conversion of a character inputted to a keyboard into a braille, since one character corresponds to one braille in case of the 50 Japanese sounds, and the code bit is stored in a series L(n) according to the inputted characters. In case of a voiced sound, a contracted sound and a word of foreign origin, since the character is represented by two braille characters, the bit code is stored in L(n) and L(n+1).
