Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase an input speed of Romaji according to the pronunciation for a Chinese character input device using a Romaji-Chinese character conversion, by providing the keyboard group which can supply a combination of a vowel and an alveolar consonant a combination of a vowel and a velar consonant and others through a single keyboard respectively. CONSTITUTION:Each of AN, IN, UN, EN and ON, i.e., a combination of a vowel and an alveolar consonant can be suplied through a single keyboard of the keyboard group 3; each of ATU, ITU, UTU, ETU and OTU, a combination of a vowel and a velar consonant, can be supplied through a single keyboard of the keyboard group 5; and each of AKU, IKU, UKU, EKI and OKU, a combination of a vowel and another velar consonant can be supplied through a single keyboard of the keyboard group 6 respectively. An array of these groups corresponds to the distribution of the input keyboard 4 which is used for a short vowel of a vowel contained in the width of pronunciation. In such way, a Romaji input keyboard is obtained.
