Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the displacement of a boundary part and the temp. of a constant temp. zone continuously by moving a sonde provided stepwise with plural pieces of temp. detecting ends in its leading end part upward and downward in the charging materials in a furnace, and locating said leading end part at the boundary point between a preheating zone and the constant temp. zone. CONSTITUTION:A sonde 4 provided stepwise with plural pieces of temp. detecting ends X, Y, Z in the leading end part by leaving prescribed intervals (l) is inserted perpendicularly into the charging materials 2 in a blast funace 1 from the top part of said furnace. The temp. values detected with the detecting ends X, Y, Z are inputted to a controller 16. The controller 16 compares the differences between the respective temp. values and the set values, emits a command in accordance the results thereof and drives a motor 12 to rotate a wire drum 13 forward or backward, thereby moving the sonde 4 suspended to a wire rope 11 upward or downward. According to this upward and downward movement, the leading end part of the sonde 4 is located at the boundary point R between a preheating zone and a constant temp. zone, and the position of the point R is measured accurately from the extent of the upward or downward movement. In this way, the displacement of the point R with time and the temp. of the constant temp. zone are measured continuously.
