CONSTITUTION:In a copy machine, a microprocessor 20 controls a fixing heater 34 and an exposure halogen lamp 38 and a microprocessor 21 controls a copy process sequence. The microprocessor 20 detects a peak value VD of a pulsating wave V/A from a full wave rectifier 42 inputted to a channel A0 of an A/D converter 45 by using a zero cross pulse Zp inputted to an interrupting terminal INT. An ROM in the microprocessor 20 stores the phase angle of a switching element 36 required to obtain a constant current in a lamp 38 as a fixed data in accordance with a peak voltage VD with experiments and calculations in advance. When the microprocessor 20 detects the peak value PD, a phase angle theta corresponding to it is read out from the ROM, the element 36 is conductive with the angle theta and the lamp 38 illuminates. A solid-state relay 33 is controlled in the phase angle of pi-theta to energized the heater 34.
