Abstract
PURPOSE: To solidify oil or fat, easily and economically, by adding a specific amount of a gelatinizing agent obtained by mixing an oil-soluble cellulose derivative and a metallic soap at a specific ratio to the oil or fat to be solidified, followed by the heating, melting, and cooling of the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The objective gelatinizing agent is prepared by mixing an oil- or fat-soluble cellulose derivative (e.g. ethyl cellulose) and a metallic soap (e.g. fatty acid, etc.) at a weight ratio of 1:20W10:1, preferably 7:10W7:1, and if necessary, adding a deodorant, perfume, viscosity-regulating agent, a melting point- regulating agent, etc. 100pts.wt. of a waste oil or fat used in home or in a food processing industry for the cooling of foods, (e.g. waste oil of TEMPURA) is incorporated with ≥1.5pts. of the gelatinizing agent, molten by heating, and cooled to obtain the solidified oil or fat. The gel composition of the oil or fat greasy or gelatinous, and can be discarded as a combustible wet refuse.
