The code corresponding to input characters, i.e., input data C1 is displayed on a character display 3 such as a liquid crystal display in accordance with the input characters. The data C1 is stored successively into a buffer memory within a controller 2. When this buffer memory is filled with the input data, the data is transferred from the buffer memory to a magnetic recorder 4 to be registered to a magnetic medium 5.
