Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a document process with a device of a small size, by displaying a line after dividing it into plural parts on a display which is incapable of displaying a line laterally and all at once and selecting the Chinese character out of the homophone to decice an error of the character train. CONSTITUTION:A sentence containing Chinese characters is supplied through a keyboard KB and read by a CPU based on a program of an ROM. The keyboard KB includes the character keys of KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary), alphanumeric and code plus the function keys for the shift of Chinese characters, the release of the said shift, the selection, etc. The supplied character train is stored in a page memory PM of 16-character and 4-line and the rearranged into 4 lines and 8 rows in a refresh memory RM to be displayed at a display part CRT by the control of a control part CRTC. In case an input is carried out in KANA (Japanese syllabary) letters, these letters are stored in a temporary storage part COB and then converted into the Chinese characters through a storage dictionary WD. If plural homophones exist, they are selected through a homophone memory SM. A pointer PT designates the address of the memory PM to carry out an editing process. Thus a document containing Chinese characters can be produced by a simple device of a small size.
